Happy Veterans Day 11/11/2011

You can tell from visiting my website that I am a proud Soldier, and a veteran, here’s a photo of me while I Was serving in Iraq it was taken in the rainy season which in early 2004 was February.   My Army National Guard Unit was called up to Active Duty late January 2003 and deployed to Fort Bliss, Texas where we trained and waited for our Trucks to get to deployed area, then we left April 9th 2003 for Kuwait where then we grouped up and retrieved our equipment to make the push up through Iraq, we crossed the boarder on April 19, 2003, we stayed in Country till we Left Iraq April 7th 2003 and returned to Fort Bliss Texas where we Demobilized from Active Service back to National Guard Status a Week Later where we were welcomed back home.   I remember this as all Veterans remember their times apart from Family and Friends, where they put their lives on hold to serve more then one self.  That’s a Veteran’s Sacrifice. We remember those who have fallen or who never made it home on Memorial Day, on Veteran’s Day we remember all those who have served and thank those Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen who still serve.

Video Evidence of Events at work. Older Lady takes on two guys about their posters

As those who know me and my blog, know I work on the Civilian side as a Security Officer, This video was recorded by me and is my original content, So if used for Media please contact me first. I videoed this as a result to show complaints about this group causing issues and disturbances at a shopping center where I work, This group as you see on this video has a Poster with President of the United States of America, President Obama with a Hitler Mustache.  They also did the same thing for President Bush as well, This older lady took them on and was going to remove a posters.  I know these folks have the Freedom of Speech but dosnt have the right to impose their views on others as well as use such a hateful Vision like this.  Check it out and see for yourself, feel free to comment

Thank you,

O’Mulrooney Family

I was just doing some research on my family heritage in Ireland.  I always joked with friends about how to pronounce me name, by saying this phrase, It’s like Micky Rooney Minus the Micky and Add Moe to male the Name MULROONEY,   Well I know my Family has ties to royalty in ancient times in Ireland.   Here’s some information I found on various sites on the web.

  O Mulrooney ( O Maolruanaidh)

  Rooney (Anglised)

Our first King of Moylurg was not strictly speaking a MacDermot at all. When Mulrooney Mor died in the late 10th Century his immediate descendants for over four generations were known by his name – O Mulrooney. Mulrooney was the younger brother of Conor, King of Connacht 966-971, the eponymous ancestor of the O’Conors. Mulrooney, having agreed not to contest Connacht with his older brother founded an indepedent tribe or tuath in Moylurg. After Dermot O Mulrooney (king of Moylurg 1124-1159, and our eponymous ancestor) Clan Mulrooney became Clan MacDermot and we have little more direct information about the O Mulrooney name. Edward MacLysaght maintains that what was left of the O Mulrooney Clan was subjugated by the Maguires of Fermanagh. The name exists still in the area but is more commonly spelt Rooney.

The Family comes from the County Galway in Ireland, My Great Great Grandfather John Mulrooney immigrated to the United States in 1840 some of the first Irish to come over during the 100 years of Irish Emigrations.  He worked the Rail Road till he saved enough to send for his younger Brother Darby Mulrooney to make the trip to the United States.  They work rail road together till they were able to get farms, they settled near the little town of Mt. Hope Wisconsin. Still some Mulrooney’s who still farm the land there. I found more information out about family history when I was looking up on the Army Directory and found there was another Mulrooney who joined the Army I emailed him and see if we shared any relatives, he wasn’t sure but got me in touch with his Aunt and we combined our research and found we were related they came from descendents of Darby Mulrooney.

Just tonight I was looking up about family colors, what the family clan would have worn for Kilts, to find out in Ireland you didn’t wear Tartans colors for your family name you wore for your county or District and since my Family originated in Galway we would wear the Galway Kilt/Tarton which is pictured to the left.

If your a Mulrooney and would like to share family history for Oenology research feel free to email me chris@christophermulrooney.com or just send a comment on this topic.

Thank you,
